Hello beauties! I feel like i haven't written a post in forever! Anyway, I was looking through my makeup collection and i found these two Mac Mineralize Eyeshadows that i got when the Semi Precious Collection came out last summer. Well, i never really use them, they're new!
I think some of the Mineralize Eyeshadows don't exactly have a great staying power, some are a little flaky and i just don't use them very often. However, it occurred to me that i should give them another try and use them as blushers. These two shades are somewhat in the same colour range as the blushers, i think.
Quartz Fusion is a raspberry pink with chunky glitter. Faux Gold it's a melange of soft undertones with a coppery brown on top and has a very smooth application. I applied the Eyeshadows over my foundation with a Mac 129 blush brush, then i blended it out. I applied it heavily to show the colours, but it can be applied with less intensity.
I'm quite happy i had this idea cause this way my eyeshadows won't go to waste or be forgotten in my drawer forever! I'm not sure if the blush formulas have a big difference with the eyeshadows but i'm guessing there must be, but since these are mineralize products i don't think there will be a skin related problem.
What do you think about using products for different purposes? Have you tried this before?
Oh! What a brilliant idea! I love baked cosmetics as blusher and highlighter, don't know why I never thought to use the shadows as a blush! Going to try this out for sure! Are you going to pick up anything from the M.A.C. Heavenly Creatures collection? :)

DeleteI really want Light Year, as well! Also I want to see if I can get the Supernova blush. I've never seen a blusher so bright and hot pink! :)

Deleteur so smart! we have almost the entire collection and i never use those two colors that much i hate the quartz fusion so bad its to shiny and not that fancy now i know a great way of how to wear them; instead of trowing them away :) xoxo cutttttiiiiiie lol
ReplyDeleteThank you! And i'm glad this post helped! x
DeleteLooks lovely! I really like the Quartz Fusion colour on its own though x
ReplyDeleteIt is a pretty colour, for me just not as an eyeshadow :) x
DeleteThey look really pretty as blushers, especially since they're not super pigmented. They give a healthy, glowy look to the complexion :) It's great you can find other purposes for products that you otherwise would've neglected!
ReplyDeleteYeah! they turned out great as blushers :) x
DeleteHeya, loving the blog. I have started following. These blushes are gorgeous!

Deletei like how you used the eyeshadow as a blush instead! it's kind of a bummer when products dont work out the way they're advertised....but hey there are always other options :D
